Conversation with George Thornton, CEO NWTF
I recently had a conversation with George Thornton, CEO of the NWTF, to get acquainted and hopefully understand one another. George actually initiated the call. I had earlier written him in support of our management staff of the NWTF and the desire to see our organization run by the management team instead of by the board of directors.
I posted earlier on our web site that we, the Take Back the NWTF Committee, have nothing but praise for the dedicated NWTF staff that he has inherited from Rob Keck and his managers. We have the absolute finest staff of any conservation organization and that also includes our volunteers, many of whom also support our position with our web page. Our staff should not feel any threat whatsoever from the web page we sponsor and understand that we are in full support of growing our organization and removing the clouds that linger from the recent board room decisions that have devastated the management of the NWTF and brought on potentially ruinous lawsuits.
We present only facts that can be supported with documentation on our web page and seek the support of those who understand the dynamics of allowing a run away board to rule over our organization. We shouldn’t be ruled over by a fiefdom system and the way to break it up is with your vote for change. It is now time to send in your nominations for board candidates to be elected by our membership. We strongly support that system and request that you send your nominations into George Thornton as soon as possible making it clear that to succeed he must acquire a board of directors that represents the interests of the NWTF volunteers, not their own personal agendas.
It should be noted here that the Take Back the NWTF Committee remains strongly dedicated to its mission. We are highly resolved to remove those who have severely wounded the National Wild Turkey Federation and have taken it away from the many thousands of deeply committed volunteers whose efforts over the years built the NWTF and made it great.
Please consider carefully becoming a member of the Take Back the NWTF Committee.
